All pages comprising the www.bayern.by website are composed in the same way and all use the same navigation principles. Each page starts with a meta navigation bar providing access to a variety of functions. This is followed by the main navigation bar comprising the individual categories for the page you are on. Each category also has a number of subcategories which are listed in the submenu in the column on the left hand side of the page.
On each page directly under the heading is the so-called "Breadcrumb trail" which locates the current web page in the context of a navigation path. For example the topic-path for this web page, presented in the form of breadcrumb navigation is: "Homepage | Help". This helps you navigate your way back to the current page whenever you want.
Every page can be easily printed out. You can see a print preview by clicking on the “Print view” button in your browser.
Links clearly marked as external links will lead you an externally administered website which will be opened in a separate window.

The content of each page is listed in clearly defined separate blocks.
Left-hand column: submenu and Configuration assistance
Central column: current content with photos and further links
Right-hand column: important further information such as the log-in to your own personalised section, your own personal list of favourites, additional useful information about the content of the current page and partner advertising

In the left-hand column underneath the submenu is a block containing configuration assistance. This can be used to change the size of the type of any of our pages to suit your needs. JavaScript and Cookies must be activated to enable you to make such changes.
All you need to do is to click with your mouse to increase or decrease the size of the type or change it back to its original size.

Alternatively, graphic browsers, such as Mozilla Firefox , Internet Explorer or Opera provide excellent zoom functions of their own.
If you have a mouse with a scroll wheel it is really easy: all you do is hold down CTRL and rotate the scroll wheel to zoom in or out. This works with most modern browsers.
You can also do this using the control keys. Unfortunately the keys vary according to the browser you use. Please consult your browser for further details:
Microsoft Internet Explorer
go into menu > View|Type size, and click on the setting you require
Netscape , Mozilla, Firefox
zoom in: hold down CTRL and press the plus key (+)
zoom out: hold down CTRL and press the minus key (-)
Opera
Opera doesn’t provide a function to increase or decrease the size of the type. But you can zoom in or out approximately 10% on the complete screen using the plus key (+) or the minus key (-)
Linux
zoom in: hold down CTRL and press the plus key (+)
zoom out: hold down CTRL and press the minus key (-)
Macintosh
zoom in: hold down CTRL and press the plus key (+)
zoom out: hold down CTRL and press the minus key (-)

Many browsers allow you to access various sections or functions on a website using predetermined shortcut keys.
Windows
To carry out a so-called Shortcut function hold down CTRL whilst also pressing the relevant Shortcut-Key.
Macintosh
Here, too, shortcut functions are carried out by holding down CTRL whilst also pressing the relevant Shortcut-Key.
Please note that the use of shortcut keys varies according to the browser you use. With modern browsers the new page will appear as soon as you hit the shortcut key, whilst with older browsers you need to press ENTER after hitting the shortcut key. With some very old browsers you cannot use shortcut keys at all.
